📋 About the Role
HSBC, one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organisations, has a strong presence in India with a focus on retail, commercial, and investment banking. The bank prides itself on a culture of diversity, inclusion and continuous learning, offering employees the chance to work on global projects while staying rooted in local markets. With a commitment to sustainable finance and digital transformation, HSBC provides a vibrant environment where fresh talent can grow alongside seasoned professionals. The Data Analyst role in the Branch and Retail Banking division is designed for recent graduates who are eager to turn raw data into strategic insights that drive marketing and customer engagement initiatives. As a junior member of the analytics team, you will collaborate closely with marketing, product, and business stakeholders to design, execute, and evaluate campaigns that enhance customer experience and business performance. Key Responsibilities: 1. Support the design, execution, and evaluation of marketing and customer engagement campaigns by analysing performance data and identifying success metrics. 2. Gather and prepare data from multiple sources such as CRM systems, digital platforms, and third‑party tools to enable robust campaign analysis. 3. Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and periodic reports using Excel, Power BI, or Looker to track campaign effectiveness and response rates. 4. Translate complex data sets into clear, actionable insights and present recommendations for optimisation to cross‑functional teams. 5. Collaborate with marketing, product, and business units to understand objectives, define KPIs, and deliver analytics solutions that align with business goals. 6. Document analytical processes, methodologies, and findings to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing across the team. 7. Stay updated on emerging analytics techniques, tools, and industry trends, demonstrating learning agility in a fast‑paced environment. 8. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting new data sources, visualisation techniques, or analytical frameworks. 9. Assist senior analysts in ad‑hoc deep‑dive analyses and predictive modelling as required. 10. Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the analytics lifecycle. Tech Stack: Excel, Power BI, Looker, SQL, Python (basic), GCP BigQuery (exposure), Tableau (optional). The role offers a clear growth path—from Analyst to Senior Analyst, then to Analytics Manager or Business Intelligence Lead—providing opportunities to lead larger projects and mentor new hires. Joining HSBC means gaining exposure to a global banking network, access to world‑class training programs, and a supportive culture that values curiosity and innovation. The apprenticeship component adds a formal certification from the Government of India, enhancing your professional credentials. Why Join HSBC? You will work in a reputable multinational bank that invests heavily in employee development, offers competitive compensation, and provides a collaborative environment where fresh ideas are welcomed. The role is ideal for graduates passionate about data‑driven decision making and looking to launch a rewarding career in analytics within the financial sector.
