Job Safety Tips

Protect yourself from job scams and fake recruiters. Every fresher must read this before applying anywhere online.

🚨

Important Warning

Jobdexo will never ask you to pay any fee to apply for jobs. Legitimate companies do not charge application fees. If anyone claiming to be from Jobdexo or a company recruiter asks you to pay money, it is a scam. Report it immediately.

Red Flags — Spot a Fake Job

❌ They Ask for Money

Any job that asks you to pay a registration fee, training fee, security deposit, or documentation fee is 100% a scam. Legitimate companies never charge candidates.

❌ Unverified Email Domains

Beware of recruiters using Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail instead of official company email domains like @tcs.com or @infosys.com.

❌ Unrealistic Salary Promises

If a freshers job offers salaries with no experience required or a guaranteed job in 7 days — it is too good to be true.

❌ WhatsApp-Only Recruitment

Legitimate companies never conduct the entire hiring process over WhatsApp. Real processes involve official portals, emails, and structured interviews.

❌ Suspicious Apply Links

Before clicking any apply link, check that it leads to the official company domain. Be wary of URL shorteners or random redirect links.

❌ Asks for Aadhaar or Bank Details Early

Never share your Aadhaar number, bank account, PAN card, or OTP with any recruiter before you have a verified offer letter.

❌ Extreme Urgency Pressure

Scammers create artificial urgency. Legitimate hiring has standard timelines and never pressures you to act within hours.

❌ No Online Presence

Search the company name on Google. If there is no official website, LinkedIn page, or credible news — be very cautious.

Safe Job Hunting Practices

Always Verify on the Official Website
Before applying anywhere — including from Jobdexo — visit the company official career page directly. Search Company Name careers on Google and apply from there too.
Research the Company
Check the company on LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Ambitionbox. Look for reviews from employees. If the company has no employees listed on LinkedIn — be cautious.
Use a Separate Job Hunt Email
Create a separate Gmail account just for job applications. This protects your primary inbox and makes it easy to track all job-related communications.
Never Share OTPs
No legitimate recruiter will ever ask for an OTP. OTPs are personal and sharing them can result in account theft or financial fraud.
Protect Your Resume
Remove your full Aadhaar number, passport number, and bank details from your resume. You can share sensitive documents only after receiving a verified official offer letter.
Trust Your Instincts
If something feels wrong — the recruiter is too pushy, the salary is unrealistic, or the process seems unusual — trust your gut and step back.
Report Suspected Scams
If you encounter a fake job on Jobdexo, report it to us immediately. Also file a cybercrime complaint at cybercrime.gov.in if you have been defrauded.
