We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Analyst- Data Engineering in the Valuations and Analytics Group in Product Control. This team is responsible for all aspects of the calculation of Fair Value for traded instruments in Global Banking & Markets and additionally undertakes oversight and support for fair value calculations across the rest of HSBC Group. In this role, you will be working with a team of experienced quantitative analytics professionals with deep subject matter expertise on derivative valuation and finance. You will be responsible for building and maintaining automated solutions to improve controls and analytical processes, developing services within Product Control strategic infrastructure, and supporting the proper and correct delivery of standardised data to teams across Product Control. You will also be working closely with the Technology department to ensure smooth integration and deployment, providing day-to-day support to Product Control users, and assisting in the building of collaborative relationships between the Engineering team and the business. Additionally, you will be leading projects to standardise, streamline, and automate processes, investigating short-term issues as well as strategic objectives, and coming up with innovative solutions. To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong analytical mind, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also need to have a good understanding of financial data, including trade, position, valuations, and PnL, as well as experience with programming languages such as Python and SQL.
