As a Software Developer – Train IT at Siemens under the Siemens Recruitment 2026 drive, you will take ownership of developing and maintaining diagnostic and data analysis platforms for innovative rail vehicles. Your work ensures that Siemens locomotives are equipped with robust software architectures for remote data transmission and landside communication. Following the V-Model approach, you will handle end-to-end responsibility for application software—from gathering and structuring requirements to implementing solution concepts and architectures. As a Linux expert, you will implement software for embedded systems and collaborate with global stakeholders to carry out software integration and testing directly on vehicles. Your key responsibilities will include: * Defining system requirements and interface specifications for vehicle diagnostics systems. * Gathering, analyzing, and structuring software requirements to create robust solution architectures. * Implementing new software for embedded systems using C++ and Python on the Linux OS. * Integrating external devices to vehicle control for diagnostics management and landside communication. * Following the V-Model approach for application software upgrades and end-to-end development. * Performing software integration and on-vehicle testing to ensure functionality and safety. * Collaborating with global teams and providing technical advisory support to other development engineers. * Supporting configuration management and change request processes throughout the project lifecycle.
