📋 About the Role
HSBC is one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organisations, operating in more than 60 countries and territories. In India, HSBC has a strong presence across retail, commercial, corporate and investment banking, offering a diverse portfolio of products and services to millions of customers. The bank is known for its commitment to sustainability, digital innovation and a culture that values diversity and inclusion. Employees benefit from global exposure, robust training programmes and clear career progression pathways, making HSBC a preferred destination for fresh talent. The role of Data Collection & Preparation at HSBC is a critical entry‑level position within the Marketing Analytics team. The incumbent will be responsible for gathering data from a wide variety of internal systems (CRM, ERP, campaign management tools) and external sources (social media, third‑party data providers). After collection, the data must be cleansed, validated and transformed into a consistent format that can be readily consumed by analysts and data scientists. High data quality is essential to ensure that downstream campaign performance dashboards and insights are reliable. Key responsibilities include: 1. Collect, integrate, and prepare data from diverse internal and external sources. 2. Perform data cleansing, de‑duplication and validation to maintain high data quality. 3. Build and maintain dynamic dashboards and detailed performance reports using Excel, Power BI and Looker. 4. Analyse campaign data to uncover trends, patterns and optimisation opportunities. 5. Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations for marketing, product and business teams. 6. Collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to understand business objectives and tailor analytics solutions. 7. Keep abreast of the latest tools, techniques and best practices in data‑driven marketing. 8. Document all data pipelines, methodologies and insights for knowledge sharing. 9. Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline data preparation workflows. 10. Support continuous learning initiatives and mentor junior team members as the function scales. Technical stack: Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Looker, SQL, Python (basic), Google BigQuery (or similar cloud‑based query engines). The role offers a clear growth path – high‑performing analysts can progress to senior analyst, data engineer or analytics manager positions, with opportunities to specialise in areas such as predictive modelling, customer segmentation or marketing automation. HSBC’s supportive culture, global brand reputation, competitive compensation and exposure to cutting‑edge analytics tools make this an attractive launchpad for fresh graduates eager to build a career in data‑driven marketing.
