📋 About the Role

Key responsibilities include:
1. Collect, review and validate US tax forms (W‑8, W‑9) from lenders and borrowers.
2. Determine tax residency and exemption status based on documentation and facility agreements.
3. Maintain accurate tax records in loan servicing and agency systems.
4. Monitor expiration dates of tax forms, trigger refresh cycles and follow up with lenders.
5. Track, calculate and report lender‑level income (interest, fees) for IRS Form 1099 and Form 1042 preparation.
6. Prepare and support IRS reporting, ensuring compliance with withholding‑agent obligations.
7. Assist in internal and external audits, regulatory inquiries and risk assessments.
8. Collaborate with Deal Administration and Loan Servicing teams to align tax treatment with payment cycles.
9. Participate in daily WIP calls, update the team on progress and flag bottlenecks.
10. Contribute to the monthly MIS report and support ad‑hoc transaction activities.
Tech stack & tools: The team primarily uses Kroll’s proprietary loan servicing platform, MS Excel (advanced functions & VBA), SQL for data extraction, and document management systems such as SharePoint. Familiarity with tax software (e.g., OneSource) and basic knowledge of Python for data manipulation is a plus.
Growth path: Junior Analysts typically progress to Senior Analyst within 1‑2 years, then to Associate/Manager roles handling larger portfolios and leading cross‑functional projects. Exposure to global tax compliance, structured finance and client interaction provides a solid foundation for careers in investment banking, corporate finance or regulatory consulting.
