The New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer role in Chennai is designed for recent graduates and early‑career engineers who are eager to bridge the gap between product design and mass production. As an NPI Engineer, you will be at the forefront of turning prototype concepts into market‑ready products, coordinating closely with design, manufacturing, quality, and supply‑chain teams. This position provides hands‑on exposure to the entire product lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies to final launch readiness, and offers a solid foundation for a career in product development or manufacturing engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support end‑to‑end development and launch of new products, ensuring smooth transition from prototype to production.
2. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (design, manufacturing, supply chain) to define and validate product specifications.
3. Conduct design validation tests, collect data, and recommend design or process improvements.
4. Analyze technical data to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and drive root‑cause resolution.
5. Ensure compliance with quality, reliability, and regulatory standards before market release.
6. Develop and maintain test plans, validation procedures, and documentation.
7. Identify potential risks in the product lifecycle and propose mitigation strategies.
8. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product cost, quality, and time‑to‑market.
9. Provide technical support to production lines during pilot runs and early volume manufacturing.
10. Prepare regular status reports and present findings to senior stakeholders.
Tech Stack & Tools: Product development fundamentals, CAD/CAE basics, statistical analysis (Minitab, Excel), DFMEA, GD&T, basic scripting for data analysis, and familiarity with PLM tools.
Growth Path: Successful NPI Engineers can progress to Senior NPI Engineer, Product Development Lead, or move into specialized roles such as Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or Product Manager.
