The Technology‑Intern role is a 20‑24 week full‑time internship designed to give engineering students hands‑on experience in software development, system optimisation and automation. Interns will be embedded within product and platform teams, working on web, mobile and cloud‑based solutions that power GE’s smart‑appliance ecosystem. The stint is structured to provide a blend of independent coding tasks, collaborative feature development, and exposure to industry‑grade DevOps practices. Key responsibilities include: 1. Assist in designing, developing and testing web, mobile and cloud applications. 2. Collaborate with senior engineers to translate business requirements into technical specifications. 3. Write clean, maintainable code in languages such as Java, Kotlin, Python, Dart and JavaScript/React. 4. Participate in code reviews, unit testing and debugging to ensure high‑quality deliverables. 5. Work with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerisation tools (Docker, Terraform) to deploy services. 6. Contribute to building CI/CD pipelines and automating repetitive tasks. 7. Identify process bottlenecks and propose automation or optimisation solutions. 8. Document technical designs, test cases and deployment steps for knowledge sharing. 9. Support QA teams in validating functionality and performance across devices. 10. Present progress and learnings to stakeholders in regular sprint demos.
