The Trainee role is an entry‑level position designed to groom fresh graduates into competent testing professionals. The primary purpose is to prepare test cases, execute functional and automation tests, and ensure that the product or platform delivered to clients meets 100% quality standards. The role offers exposure to Wipro’s proprietary testing methodologies, model‑based testing, and automation frameworks, providing a solid foundation for a career in quality assurance and software testing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Understand business and functional requirements and translate them into detailed test cases.
2. Author test plans and test strategies aligned with client expectations.
3. Implement Wipro’s model‑based testing approach to generate efficient test suites.
4. Conduct peer reviews of test cases to minimize rework and ensure coverage.
5. Collaborate with development teams to capture test scenarios and maintain version control.
6. Define testing scope, set criteria, and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
7. Automate test life‑cycle activities using VB macros, GUI automation tools, and scheduling scripts.
8. Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks and generate comprehensive test reports.
9. Log defects with clear replication steps, track their lifecycle, and ensure timely resolution.
10. Prepare and present test status dashboards to stakeholders after each test cycle.
Tech Stack: VB macros, Selenium/WebDriver (basic), Model‑Based Testing tools, JIRA/ALM for defect tracking, Test Management tools (eCube, TMS), basic scripting (Batch/PowerShell), and exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
Growth Path: Successful trainees can progress to Software Test Engineer, Senior Test Engineer, Test Lead, and eventually Test Manager or Quality Assurance Architect, with opportunities to specialize in automation, performance testing, or security testing.
