The Chennai office is a key hub for Flex’s Cost Accounting Solutions (CAS) team, responsible for tracking product costs, driving efficiency and ensuring financial compliance across the manufacturing footprint. As a Junior Financial Analyst – CAS, you will be the analytical backbone that supports senior accountants and operations managers, translating raw data into actionable insights that help the business stay competitive.
**Role Summary**
You will perform end‑to‑end cost accounting activities, maintain standard operating procedures, and assist in month‑end closing. The role is designed for fresh graduates or candidates with up to two years of experience who are eager to learn the nuances of cost accounting in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Execute all cost accounting tasks as defined by the CAS framework.
2. Monitor and report on key cost‑accounting metrics in line with corporate policy.
3. Identify and implement time‑saving or cost‑reducing initiatives through pocket Kaizens and process improvements.
4. Collaborate with the operations team to investigate and resolve metric non‑conformances.
5. Post month‑end journal entries for accruals and re‑classifications in the ERP system.
6. Draft, update and store SOPs in the Document Management System (DMS).
7. Perform variance analysis and prepare cost reports for internal stakeholders.
8. Serve as a backup for the senior cost accountant, ensuring continuity of critical functions.
9. Participate in cross‑functional meetings to align financial data with production schedules.
10. Continuously upgrade knowledge of accounting standards and internal policies.
**Tech Stack**: ERP (SAP/Oracle), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Document Management System (DMS), basic data‑visualisation tools.
