The role of a Compliance Analyst at American Express is designed to give fresh talent exposure to the inner workings of a bank’s compliance function. You will assist the compliance team in operational, monitoring, and coordination activities, ensuring that the organization adheres to regulatory requirements set by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and other authorities. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will involve tracking regulatory circulars, updating the Regulatory Change Management database, coordinating with internal stakeholders for implementation progress, and supporting AML analysts in transaction monitoring and investigations. You will also help prepare documentation for regulatory inspections, internal audits, and committee updates. Key Responsibilities: 1. Track, log, and summarize RBI and other regulator circulars and notifications. 2. Maintain the Regulatory Change Management database, monitoring timelines and milestones. 3. Coordinate with business units to ensure timely implementation of regulatory changes. 4. Prepare and maintain documentation/evidence for regulatory inspections and internal audits. 5. Assist AML analysts in reviewing alerts, conducting preliminary investigations, and maintaining case inventories. 6. Ensure SLA adherence for alerts and cases, escalating issues as required. 7. Draft reports and regulatory filing documents using internal tools. 8. Provide regular updates to AEBC committees and senior compliance leaders. 9. Support the creation of control mechanisms to monitor compliance adherence. 10. Participate in training sessions and knowledge‑sharing forums within the compliance function. Tech Stack & Tools: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), regulatory change management platforms, AML monitoring tools, basic data analysis using Excel or Power BI, and familiarity with document management systems. Growth Path: Starting as a Compliance Analyst, you can progress to Senior Analyst, Compliance Manager, and eventually to leadership roles such as Head of Compliance or Risk Management, with opportunities to specialize in AML, regulatory affairs, or policy design.
