As an Automation Engineer, you will work closely with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts that validate the functionality and performance of web, mobile, and API applications. You will be responsible for integrating automation frameworks into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring that every code change is rigorously tested before deployment. Key responsibilities include: 1. Designing and developing automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver, Java/Python, and TestNG/Cucumber. 2. Creating reusable test components and maintaining a robust test framework. 3. Integrating automation suites with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools. 4. Writing API test cases using REST Assured or Postman and validating responses. 5. Collaborating with developers and business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into test scenarios. 6. Performing regression, functional, and performance testing. 7. Analyzing test results, logging defects, and working with the QA team to resolve issues. 8. Participating in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives. 9. Documenting test plans, test cases, and test reports. 10. Continuously improving automation coverage and efficiency. Tech stack: Java/Python, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Cucumber, Jenkins, Git, SQL, REST API testing, Agile methodologies. Growth path: Starting as an Automation Engineer, you can progress to Senior Automation Engineer, Lead Automation Engineer, and eventually move into Test Lead or QA Manager roles.
