Intel, a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing and computing innovation, has a strong presence in India with multiple development centers that drive cutting‑edge research in hardware, software, and AI. The company’s Bangalore campus is known for its vibrant ecosystem, where engineers collaborate across domains to build products that power data centers, cloud platforms, and emerging edge devices. Intel’s culture emphasizes continuous learning, diversity of thought, and a commitment to sustainability, making it an attractive destination for fresh talent eager to contribute to world‑changing technology.
The Hybrid FPGA SW Developer role is designed for recent graduates who are passionate about the intersection of software engineering and hardware acceleration. As a hybrid position, the candidate will spend part of the week in the office collaborating with senior FPGA architects and the rest working remotely, following Intel’s flexible work model. The role focuses on developing, testing, and optimizing software that drives FPGA‑based solutions for high‑performance computing, AI inference, and networking workloads. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes hardware designers, firmware engineers, and system architects, gaining exposure to the full product lifecycle from concept to silicon validation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement C/C++/Python drivers and APIs to interface with Intel FPGA platforms.
2. Develop and maintain hardware‑software co‑design flows using tools such as Quartus, Vivado, and Intel® OneAPI.
3. Write testbenches and verification scripts to validate functional correctness and performance.
4. Optimize code for latency, throughput, and power consumption on FPGA accelerators.
5. Collaborate with hardware designers to debug timing and integration issues.
6. Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
7. Contribute to continuous integration pipelines and automated regression testing.
8. Assist in creating technical presentations for internal stakeholders and customers.
9. Stay updated with emerging FPGA architectures and industry trends.
10. Support post‑silicon validation and field performance tuning.
Tech Stack: C, C++, Python, SystemVerilog, Intel Quartus, OneAPI, Linux, Git, Jenkins, Docker, and scripting languages for automation.
Growth Path: Starting as a junior developer, you can progress to Senior FPGA Engineer, FPGA Architecture Lead, or move into specialized roles such as AI Accelerator Engineer or System Software Engineer. Intel’s internal mobility program encourages cross‑domain moves, enabling you to explore hardware design, firmware, or cloud‑native software tracks.
Why Join Intel? Intel offers a competitive compensation package, world‑class mentorship, and exposure to industry‑defining projects. Freshers benefit from structured onboarding, access to state‑of‑the‑art labs, and a culture that rewards innovation. Working at Intel means being part of a legacy of technological breakthroughs while shaping the future of compute acceleration.
