The AI Tutor – Software Engineering role is designed for technically proficient individuals who love to bridge the gap between cutting‑edge AI research and practical software development. As a tutor, you will work closely with the AI model training team to curate high‑quality code examples, evaluate AI‑generated snippets, and ensure that the solutions meet industry standards for performance, scalability, and reliability. This position offers flexibility: you may be hired full‑time, part‑time, or as an independent contractor, with the freedom to set your own hours while delivering at least 10 hours of work per week on average. The role is fully remote, requiring only a compatible personal device (Chromebook, macOS 11+, or Windows 10+).
Key responsibilities:
1. Curate and maintain a diverse repository of code examples across multiple programming languages to train AI models.
2. Review AI‑generated code for correctness, efficiency, and adherence to best‑practice guidelines.
3. Provide detailed feedback and corrective suggestions to improve model outputs.
4. Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and other engineers to define quality metrics for AI‑driven coding solutions.
5. Implement and maintain testing frameworks to automatically validate code snippets.
6. Optimize code for performance, memory usage, and scalability on cloud platforms.
7. Ensure that all deliverables comply with security, accessibility, and reliability standards.
8. Document coding standards, patterns, and troubleshooting guides for internal use.
9. Participate in code‑review sessions and mentor junior contributors.
10. Stay updated with emerging technologies, programming paradigms, and AI research to continuously enhance the tutoring process.
Tech stack: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, Rust, Docker, Kubernetes, RESTful APIs, Git, CI/CD pipelines, cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure), testing frameworks (pytest, Jest, JUnit), performance profiling tools, and security scanning utilities.
Growth path: Starting as an AI Tutor, high‑performing individuals can progress to Senior Tutor, AI Curriculum Engineer, or move into broader roles such as Machine Learning Engineer, Software Engineering Manager, or Product Lead. The organization encourages cross‑functional moves, continuous learning, and leadership opportunities based on initiative and impact.
Why join SpaceXAI? You will be part of a mission‑driven team that tackles some of the most challenging problems in AI and space science. The remote‑first environment offers flexibility, while the flat structure ensures your voice is heard. Competitive hourly compensation, exposure to state‑of‑the‑art AI models, and a clear pathway to technical leadership make this an attractive opportunity for fresh graduates and early‑career engineers.
