The FinCrime Reporting Specialist role is a cornerstone of Wise’s compliance function in India. As one of the founding members of the suspicious activity reporting (SAR) team in Hyderabad, you will be responsible for detecting, analysing and reporting potentially illicit activity across Wise’s global payment network. You will collaborate with compliance teams in Europe, the Americas and Asia, gaining exposure to a variety of regulatory regimes and best‑practice frameworks. This position offers a unique blend of investigative work, regulatory reporting and cross‑functional partnership, making it ideal for candidates who thrive on detail‑oriented analysis and continuous learning.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Review alerts and transaction patterns to identify suspicious or unusual activity.
2. Draft, validate and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to relevant Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) in line with local and international regulations.
3. Conduct deep‑dive investigations, gathering evidence from transaction logs, KYC documents and external data sources.
4. Collaborate with AML, fraud, legal and product teams to ensure comprehensive case handling and timely escalation.
5. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of AML/CTF regulations, typologies and regional risk frameworks.
6. Preserve confidentiality and data integrity throughout the reporting lifecycle.
7. Participate in regular training sessions, webinars and certifications to stay ahead of emerging financial crime trends.
8. Contribute to the development of internal policies, SOPs and risk‑scoring models.
9. Provide insights and trend analysis to senior compliance leadership to inform strategic decisions.
10. Mentor junior analysts as the team scales.
**Tech Stack & Tools**: AML monitoring platforms (e.g., Actimize, SAS AML), SQL for data extraction, Excel/Power BI for analysis and visualisation, case‑management systems (e.g., NICE Actimize SAR), and basic scripting (Python) for automation.
