📋 About the Role
J.P. Morgan Wealth Management, a division of JPMorgan Chase, is one of the world’s most respected financial institutions with a legacy spanning over two centuries. The firm offers a comprehensive suite of investment, wealth planning, and asset management services to high‑net‑worth individuals, families, and institutional clients across the globe. In India, the Mumbai office serves as a strategic hub for delivering cutting‑edge wealth solutions, fostering a culture of innovation, integrity, and client‑centricity. Employees benefit from exposure to global best practices, robust training programs, and a collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth. The role of Testing Associate is positioned within the Asset & Wealth Management business unit, reporting to the Automation Test lead. As a member of a 5‑10 person testing team, you will be responsible for both manual and automated quality assurance across multiple fintech projects. Your day‑to‑day activities will include designing test strategies, creating detailed test cases, executing functional, regression, and user‑acceptance testing, and building a scalable automation framework using Selenium, Java, and Cucumber. You will also automate API validations using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or REST‑API utilities, and generate governance reports that feed into decision‑making processes. Mentoring junior testers, driving best‑practice adoption, and collaborating with developers, product owners, and business analysts are key aspects of the role. Key responsibilities include: 1. Formulating end‑to‑end test strategies for new feature releases. 2. Designing, documenting, and maintaining test cases, scenarios, and scripts with traceability to requirements. 3. Executing functional, regression, and UAT cycles across UI and API layers. 4. Building and enhancing a Selenium‑Java‑Cucumber automation suite for repeatable testing. 5. Automating API tests using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools. 6. Publishing test metrics, defect dashboards, and status reports for stakeholders. 7. Conducting training sessions on testing standards, TDD/BDD, and shift‑left practices. 8. Mentoring team members and troubleshooting automation failures. 9. Collaborating with Agile squads to ensure quality is embedded from the start. 10. Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and process documentation. The technical stack revolves around Java, Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber (BDD), TestNG/JUnit, Maven/Gradle, Git, Jenkins for CI, and API testing tools like Postman and SoapUI. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, JIRA, and MS Office for reporting is essential. Career progression can lead to senior automation engineer, QA lead, or test architect roles, with opportunities to move into broader technology or product management tracks within the global J.P. Morgan network. Joining J.P. Morgan offers exposure to high‑impact financial products, a strong mentorship culture, competitive compensation, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion, making it an ideal launchpad for ambitious engineering graduates.
