📋 About the Role
Ernst & Young (EY) is one of the world’s leading professional services firms, operating in more than 150 countries with a workforce of over 300,000 people. EY’s Global Delivery Services (GDS) hub in India powers the firm’s technology, consulting, and assurance capabilities for clients worldwide. With a strong emphasis on innovation, diversity, and continuous learning, EY helps organizations navigate complex business challenges and build a better working world. The Chennai office is a key node in the GDS network, offering fresh talent exposure to global projects, cutting‑edge tools, and a collaborative culture that encourages growth. The role of Testing‑BCM (Business Continuity Management) – Off‑Campus is designed for recent engineering graduates who are eager to start a career in software testing and quality assurance. As a member of the Testing Services practice, you will be part of a team that ensures the robustness, reliability, and performance of EY’s digital solutions. You will work closely with developers, business analysts, and senior testers to design, execute, and report on test scenarios that validate functional, non‑functional, and user‑acceptance criteria. Key Responsibilities: 1. Understand business requirements and translate them into detailed test cases. 2. Execute functional, regression, integration, and performance tests. 3. Identify, log, and track defects using defect‑management tools. 4. Collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve issues. 5. Participate in test planning, test data preparation, and test environment setup. 6. Contribute to the creation of test automation scripts where applicable. 7. Perform Business Continuity Management (BCM) testing to ensure system resilience. 8. Prepare test summary reports and present findings to stakeholders. 9. Continuously improve testing processes by adopting industry best practices. 10. Stay updated with emerging testing tools and methodologies. Tech Stack: Java / .NET / Python basics, SQL/Oracle for data validation, JIRA/ALM for defect tracking, Selenium or similar automation tools (knowledge beneficial), and familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes. Growth Path: Starting as a Junior Tester, you can progress to Senior Tester, Test Lead, and eventually Test Manager or Quality Assurance Architect, with opportunities to move into consulting or specialized domains such as Data & Analytics or Cyber Security.
