As a Shift Engineer, you will be the frontline guardian of turbine health, ensuring maximum availability and optimal performance during your shift. **Role Summary** The Shift Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operational integrity of wind turbine generators (WTG) during assigned shifts. You will lead breakdown management, execute preventive and predictive maintenance plans, and work closely with the SCADA team to maintain communication network uptime. Your analytical skills will be applied to root‑cause analysis of recurring faults, driving reliability improvements that push turbine availability above 97%. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Monitor turbine performance via SCADA and respond to alarms within stipulated SLAs. 2. Lead breakdown management activities, coordinating with maintenance crews to minimise downtime. 3. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring faults and implement corrective actions. 4. Execute preventive maintenance schedules and predictive maintenance tasks using vibration analysis, oil analysis and thermography. 5. Support the achievement of MTBF targets (120+ hours) through reliability improvement initiatives. 6. Ensure all safety protocols are followed, contributing to zero‑accident objectives. 7. Participate in operational excellence projects aimed at improving generation efficiency and machine availability. 8. Maintain accurate logs and generate shift reports for senior engineering teams. 9. Assist in the calibration and troubleshooting of communication networks and PLCs. 10.
