📋 About the Role
Volvo Group is a global leader in transport and infrastructure solutions, renowned for its commitment to sustainable mobility, innovation, and safety. With a presence in over 190 countries, Volvo continuously invests in cutting‑edge technologies such as electric trucks, autonomous driving, and digital logistics platforms. In India, Volvo has built a strong footprint in manufacturing, sales, and after‑sales services, offering a vibrant ecosystem where young talent can contribute to world‑class projects while learning from industry veterans. The company’s culture emphasizes collaboration, continuous learning, and a deep respect for environmental stewardship, making it an attractive destination for fresh graduates seeking a purpose‑driven career. The National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) is a flagship Government of India initiative aimed at skilling Indian youth through on‑the‑job training. Volvo Group partners with NATS to offer a one‑year, full‑time apprenticeship for commerce graduates. As an Apprentice Trainee, you will be immersed in the Finance and Accounts function, gaining practical exposure to end‑to‑end invoice processing, payment cycles, and vendor management. This role is designed to bridge academic knowledge with real‑world business operations, preparing you for a future career in finance, supply chain, or operations. Key responsibilities include: 1. Validating and registering incoming invoices in the ERP system. 2. Performing three‑way and two‑way invoice matching, identifying discrepancies, and coordinating resolution. 3. Responding to internal and external stakeholder queries related to invoices and payments. 4. Generating payment proposals, reviewing them for accuracy, and executing payments. 5. Managing payment exceptions and ensuring timely clearance. 6. Creating new vendor accounts (PARMA) and updating existing vendor master data. 7. Assisting in month‑end closing activities and reconciliations. 8. Supporting audit trails by maintaining proper documentation and logs. 9. Collaborating with cross‑functional teams such as Procurement, Logistics, and IT to streamline processes. 10. Continuously identifying process improvement opportunities and suggesting automation ideas. The tech stack primarily involves MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting, with exposure to SAP or Oracle ERP systems considered a plus. Throughout the apprenticeship, you will receive mentorship from senior finance professionals, structured training modules, and periodic performance reviews that map out a clear growth path. High‑performing apprentices may be offered full‑time roles in Finance, Accounts Payable, or Vendor Management after successful completion of the program. Joining Volvo means being part of a forward‑thinking organization that values innovation, offers a supportive learning environment, and provides a solid platform for launching a rewarding career in the global automotive and logistics industry.
