The Analyst – Actuarial Services role is designed for fresh graduates who are passionate about mathematics, statistics and insurance. As part of the KGS Actuarial Services team, you will support non‑life (general insurance) engagements across the UK and US. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include analysing historical claims data, identifying trends, and building Excel‑based actuarial tools. You will also use triangulation techniques to estimate outstanding loss reserves for insurance and reinsurance companies, and assist in preparing actuarial reports and commentary for senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
1. Analyse claims data and identify patterns and potential issues.
2. Build and maintain Excel‑based actuarial tools.
3. Estimate outstanding loss reserves using triangulation methods.
4. Support actuarial audits and prepare Statement of Actuarial Opinions (SAO).
5. Contribute to pricing models and bespoke actuarial modelling.
6. Assist with Solvency II, IFRS and economic capital requirements.
7. Participate in transaction and due‑diligence activities.
8. Review client methodologies, assumptions and results.
9. Prepare reports and deliver presentations to engagement managers.
10. Collaborate with senior team members and cross‑functional partners.
Tech stack: Microsoft Excel (advanced), VBA, SQL (basic), actuarial software such as Prophet or GGY‑BEE (optional), and data visualization tools.
Growth path: Starting as an Analyst, you can progress to Senior Analyst, Actuarial Associate, Actuarial Manager and beyond, with opportunities to specialize in pricing, reserving, or regulatory consulting.
