📋 About the Role
Apple is a global technology leader known for its innovative hardware, software, and services that have transformed the way people communicate, work, and entertain themselves. With a strong focus on design excellence, privacy, and sustainability, Apple has built a culture that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and relentless pursuit of perfection. The company’s Indian operations, especially in Bengaluru, serve as a hub for engineering, research, and support, offering fresh talent the chance to work on products that impact millions worldwide. The Windows Systems Engineer – Fleet Operations Engineering role sits within Apple’s massive Windows & macOS Systems Engineering team, a critical part of the Fleet Operations Engineering Group. The team ensures that the massive fleet of Windows servers and storage infrastructure that power Apple services remain secure, reliable, and highly automated. As a fresher, you will be mentored by senior engineers and will quickly take ownership of real‑world production workloads, learning to design, provision, and monitor Windows environments at scale. Key responsibilities include: 1. Maintaining and enhancing tools for deploying Windows OS to bare‑metal servers and cloud platforms. 2. Supporting a distributed Hyper‑V environment across multiple data‑centers. 3. Using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) for configuration and patch management. 4. Developing PowerShell scripts and automation utilities to reduce manual toil. 5. Monitoring system health and implementing alerts to improve reliability. 6. Troubleshooting complex Windows issues and performing root‑cause analysis. 7. Collaborating with application teams, DBAs, network engineers, and EPMs to build new environments. 8. Working with storage engineers to integrate various SAN devices. 9. Participating in feedback loops for tooling and process improvements. 10. Performing on‑call duties as part of a rotating schedule. The technical stack revolves around Windows Server, Hyper‑V, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, PowerShell, networking fundamentals, Active Directory, and optionally Go or Python for advanced automation. Over time, engineers can progress to senior system engineer, lead engineer, or architecture roles, with opportunities to move into broader infrastructure or site reliability engineering tracks. Apple’s commitment to continuous learning, internal training programs, and exposure to cutting‑edge cloud and data‑center technologies make this role an excellent launchpad for a long‑term career. Why join Apple? Beyond the prestige of the brand, Apple offers a collaborative environment where innovation is rewarded, mentorship is strong, and employees enjoy competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a culture that values diversity and inclusion. Fresh graduates get to work on production‑grade systems from day one, gaining experience that is rare for entry‑level roles elsewhere.
