The Probationary Officer (PO) Program is a flagship entry‑level initiative designed to groom fresh graduates and engineers into Relationship Managers. The two‑month residential classroom training, fully funded by the bank, equips candidates with a deep understanding of banking products, risk management, compliance, and sales techniques. Upon successful completion, trainees are placed across the country in relationship‑management roles where they will act as the bank’s front‑line ambassadors, driving customer acquisition, cross‑selling, and portfolio growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Build and nurture long‑term relationships with retail and SME customers.
2. Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate banking solutions (savings, loans, investments, credit cards, etc.).
3. Achieve wallet‑share growth by cross‑selling multiple products.
4. Conduct regular customer interactions, understand financial goals, and provide advisory support.
5. Collaborate with internal product, credit, and operations teams to deliver seamless service.
6. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal policies while maintaining the "fair to customer, fair to bank" philosophy.
7. Participate in branch‑level initiatives, promotional events, and community outreach programs.
8. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transaction details in the bank’s CRM system.
9. Travel within the assigned territory to meet clients and support branch activities.
10. Continuously upgrade product knowledge and sales skills through periodic training.
Tech Stack & Tools: The role leverages core banking applications (ICICI’s iBanking suite), CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and data analytics dashboards for performance tracking. While deep technical expertise is not mandatory, familiarity with digital banking channels and basic data interpretation is advantageous.
Growth Path: Successful POs can progress to Senior Relationship Manager, Branch Manager, and eventually to Regional Head or specialized roles in corporate banking, risk, or product management.
