With a 25‑year track record of innovation, the firm operates a high‑performance trading platform that serves clients across North America, Europe and Asia. The company’s engineering culture is driven by a relentless focus on low‑latency programming, FPGA development, hardware acceleration and machine‑learning‑enabled strategies, making it one of the most technically demanding environments in the financial services sector.
As a Software Engineer I (SDET) in the Business Support team, you will be part of a collaborative group that ensures the reliability and quality of internal software systems that power the firm’s trading operations. You will work closely with developers, QA engineers, support staff and stakeholders spread across multiple continents, translating business requirements into robust test artifacts, automating test suites, and driving releases to production. The role offers a unique blend of hands‑on coding, system administration, and interaction with broker and exchange compliance teams, giving you a holistic view of the end‑to‑end trading stack.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop test cases and automation scripts using Python‑based BDD framework (behave).
2. Execute end‑to‑end functional testing, track defects, and generate detailed reports before each release.
3. Sign off on software releases after successful validation and communicate readiness to global users.
4. Maintain and update specification documents and test environment configurations.
5. Perform certification and conformity activities with brokers and exchanges.
6. Identify areas for test automation improvement and implement CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
7. Collaborate with cross‑regional teams to ensure seamless communication throughout the release cycle.
8. Support Linux system, network and environment management tasks.
9. Contribute to knowledge‑sharing sessions and mentor junior team members.
10. Participate in post‑mortem analysis of production incidents to improve testing coverage.
Tech Stack: Python, Linux, Git, SQL/MongoDB, C++ (preferred), BDD/TDD, CI/CD tools, Docker/Kubernetes (optional), networking fundamentals.
Growth Path: Starting as an SDET, you can progress to Senior SDET, Test Automation Lead, or transition into core software engineering roles focusing on high‑frequency trading systems. Tower encourages continuous learning through workshops, certifications and exposure to cutting‑edge research.
Why Join Tower? The firm offers a merit‑based culture where performance is recognised, a hybrid work model, generous paid‑time‑off, wellness benefits, and a collaborative environment free of unnecessary hierarchy. You will be surrounded by some of the brightest minds in quantitative finance, gaining exposure to real‑world trading challenges while building a world‑class engineering skill set.
