The Department Manager role sits at the heart of store operations. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will lead a team of Sales Advisors and Visual Merchandisers, ensuring that the department consistently delivers an exceptional customer experience while meeting sales and profitability targets. You will be responsible for visual standards, stock management, staff scheduling, and fostering a collaborative, high‑energy atmosphere that reflects the brand’s values. Key Responsibilities: 1. Lead the department to achieve daily, weekly and monthly sales targets through effective coaching and performance monitoring. 2. Maintain visual merchandising standards and ensure the store layout aligns with brand guidelines. 3. Analyse sales data, identify commercial opportunities, and develop action plans to improve turnover and margin. 4. Manage inventory levels, conduct stock counts, and coordinate with the back‑office for replenishment. 5. Create weekly rosters, oversee opening and closing procedures, and ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety policies. 6. Recruit, onboard and develop team members, promoting a culture of inclusion, learning and accountability. 7. Stay abreast of fashion trends, competitor activities and customer preferences to keep the department relevant and competitive. 8. Represent the brand positively during all customer interactions, handling escalations with professionalism. 9. Collaborate with the Area Team and other store departments to share best practices and drive cross‑store initiatives. 10. Utilize POS and retail management tools (e.g., SAP Retail, Visual Merchandising software) to generate reports and support decision‑making. Tech Stack: POS system, SAP Retail, Microsoft Excel, Visual Merchandising software, inventory management tools. Growth Path: Successful Department Managers can progress to Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager, and eventually Regional Management roles, with opportunities to move into corporate functions such as Merchandising, Buying or Operations.
