The ServiceNow CMDB/Data Engineer role is positioned within the Global Business Center – Technology Center in Bangalore. The incumbent will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining data pipelines that bring ServiceNow CMDB and related ITOM/ITSM data into ExxonMobil’s enterprise analytics platform. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, IT service management and business intelligence, requiring close collaboration with ServiceNow developers, IT operations teams and BI analysts to translate operational requirements into reliable, governed data solutions. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design, develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to extract data from ServiceNow CMDB, transform it, and load it into data warehouses or lakehouses. 2. Model CMDB entities using star or snowflake schemas to support reporting and analytics. 3. Implement and enforce CMDB governance policies, data quality standards and reconciliation processes. 4. Monitor data ingestion workflows, troubleshoot anomalies and continuously improve data accuracy. 5. Develop REST API integrations, Import Sets and MID Server configurations for seamless data flow. 6. Create automated data validation scripts using Python and SQL. 7. Collaborate with ITOM/ITSM teams to understand discovery data and map it to analytical models. 8. Document data lineage, architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures. 9. Participate in code reviews, performance tuning and migration to cloud data services. 10. Stay updated with emerging data engineering tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow) and suggest improvements. Tech Stack: ServiceNow Integration Hub, MID Server, REST APIs, SQL, Python, SSIS, MSSQL, dbt, Airflow/Azure Data Factory, Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift, AWS/Azure/GCP, JavaScript for ServiceNow scripting, ITIL 4 framework.
