ANZ (Australia and New Zealand Banking Group) is one of the largest financial institutions in the Asia‑Pacific region, with a strong presence in India. The bank focuses on delivering innovative banking solutions while fostering a culture of inclusion, sustainability and community impact. With a commitment to digital transformation, ANZ invests heavily in technology, data analytics and customer‑centric design, making it an attractive destination for fresh talent looking to start a career in financial services.
The Apprentice – Operations role sits within the Talent & Culture division, specifically under the TA&M Strategy, Change and CoE department. As an apprentice, you will be immersed in real‑world projects that aim to optimise end‑to‑end customer journeys across various banking products. You will work closely with senior analysts, product owners and cross‑functional teams to identify pain points, propose innovative solutions, and help implement process improvements that enhance the overall customer experience.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Analyse existing operational processes and map customer journeys to spot inefficiencies.
2. Conduct data‑driven research to understand customer needs and preferences.
3. Assist in designing new service propositions, digital tools or workflow enhancements.
4. Prepare presentation decks and reports for senior leadership showcasing findings and recommendations.
5. Collaborate with IT and product teams to prototype and test proposed solutions.
6. Participate in daily stand‑ups, sprint planning and retrospective meetings within agile squads.
7. Support change‑management activities, including communication plans and training material creation.
8. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) post‑implementation to measure impact.
9. Contribute ideas during brainstorming sessions, encouraging blue‑sky thinking.
10. Maintain meticulous documentation of processes, decisions and outcomes.
The role does not require a specific tech stack, but familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint, basic data visualisation tools (Tableau/PowerBI) and an understanding of process‑mapping software (e.g., Visio) will be advantageous. Over time, apprentices can transition into full‑time Business Analyst, Operations Analyst or Process Excellence roles, with clear pathways to senior leadership positions within the bank’s operational and strategy functions.
Why join ANZ? The bank offers a growth‑mindset environment where learning is continuous, mentorship is strong, and flexibility is encouraged. You will gain exposure to a global banking ecosystem, work on projects that directly affect millions of customers, and develop a robust analytical skill set that is highly valued across the industry. ANZ’s commitment to employee wellbeing, flexible work options and a supportive culture makes it an ideal launchpad for fresh graduates eager to make a meaningful impact.
