📋 About the Role
Wells Fargo is one of the world’s leading diversified financial services companies, with a heritage that spans more than 150 years. In India, the bank operates across retail, commercial, and investment banking, offering a broad suite of products ranging from credit facilities to treasury services. The organization is known for its strong risk culture, customer‑centric approach, and a commitment to innovation, especially in leveraging data and AI to drive better decision‑making. Employees benefit from a collaborative environment, robust learning platforms, and clear career progression pathways that reward performance and expertise. The Analytics Associate – Collateral Analysis role is positioned within the Data & Analytics division of Wells Fargo’s Commercial Banking arm. The associate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and data engineering teams, translating complex banking problems into actionable insights. Working on collateral reporting, the role involves end‑to‑end data handling – from ingestion and validation to analysis and presentation – ensuring that the bank’s credit risk assessments are accurate and timely. The shift timing (5:30 PM to 2:30 AM) aligns with the U.S. banking day, providing exposure to global operations and cross‑regional collaboration. Key responsibilities include: 1. Reviewing and preparing collateral reporting files received from clients for processing and inventory. 2. Performing file‑format due diligence, troubleshooting diverse data formats. 3. Partnering with technical processing teams, collateral analysts, relationship managers, and field examiners to resolve reporting‑cycle issues. 4. Conducting trend analysis and exception‑report reviews, including root‑cause analysis for variations in gross collateral. 5. Creating final ineligibles schedules against client collateral files. 6. Developing standard and customized reports or ad‑hoc analyses to support business recommendations. 7. Updating project logs, monthly budget forecasts, and contributing to newsletters or operations reviews. 8. Assisting systems support groups with design, programming, testing, and implementation tasks. 9. Contributing to departmental procedures, policies, and controls to enhance accuracy and efficiency. 10. Leveraging AI‑enabled tools for data research, validation, and insight generation. Tech stack: Advanced Excel (complex formulas, VBA), SQL, Python (pandas, matplotlib), Power BI/Tableau for visualization, and AI‑assist tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot for automation. The role offers a clear growth path – from Analytics Associate to Senior Analyst, then to Manager or Product Owner within the analytics track. Joining Wells Fargo provides exposure to a global banking ecosystem, mentorship from seasoned professionals, and the chance to work on high‑impact projects that directly influence credit risk management. The company’s emphasis on inclusive culture, continuous learning, and ethical banking makes it an attractive destination for ambitious fresh graduates.
