The Applications and Systems Engineer 1 role is positioned at the intersection of engineering, sales and customer support. Reporting to the Business Development Manager and collaborating with product management, factory PSQs and inside‑sales teams, the incumbent will act as the technical champion for isolation valve and actuator solutions. The role demands a blend of analytical thinking, strong communication and the ability to translate complex customer requirements into practical, cost‑effective engineering proposals. Key responsibilities include: 1. Engaging with internal and external customers to capture detailed application requirements and propose optimal valve/actuator solutions. 2. Preparing and submitting high‑quality offers on time, coordinating with BDMs, legal, PMO and factory PSQs while ensuring compliance with Delegation of Authority (DOA) processes. 3. Providing pre‑sales technical support and participating in pre‑ and post‑order technical meetings with sales, product management and project teams. 4. Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date records in the CRM system for all customer interactions and opportunities. 5. Reviewing project specifications, seeking clarifications, and obtaining necessary approvals before finalizing quotations. 6. Conducting technical feasibility studies, including valve sizing, actuator selection and cost estimation. 7. Assisting in the preparation of technical documentation, datasheets and compliance reports. 8. Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to resolve complex technical issues under pressure. 9. Continuously updating knowledge of isolation valve products, metallurgy, fluid mechanics and testing methodologies. 10. Demonstrating strong teamwork, prioritisation and multitasking abilities in a fast‑paced environment. The technical stack for this role primarily involves MS Office suite, CRM tools, basic CAD software for valve sizing, and Emerson’s internal product configuration platforms. While coding is not a core requirement, analytical proficiency with spreadsheets and data analysis tools is essential.
