The Tools & Automation Engineer role is positioned within HPE’s Engineering & QA vertical and is designed for fresh graduates or early‑career professionals. Reporting to the software systems team, you will work onsite from the Bengaluru campus, contributing to the design, development, testing and maintenance of software tools that underpin HPE’s product portfolio. Key responsibilities include: 1. Develop, enhance and debug code for system‑level tools, utilities and automation scripts across multiple platforms. 2. Execute predefined test plans, log defects and work with partners to resolve issues. 3. Collaborate with internal and outsourced development teams to understand design specifications and ensure seamless integration. 4. Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback and adopt best coding practices. 5. Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages and CI/CD pipelines. 6. Contribute to the creation of technical documentation, user guides and release notes. 7. Assist in performance profiling and optimisation of tools for scalability. 8. Support the rollout of software updates and patches in production environments. 9. Stay updated with emerging cloud architectures, micro‑services and DevOps tools to propose improvements. 10. Engage in knowledge‑sharing sessions and mentor junior teammates. Tech Stack: C/C++, Python, Bash/PowerShell scripting, Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux/Windows environments, REST APIs, basic cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and familiarity with testing frameworks such as pytest or JUnit. Growth Path: Starting as an Engineer, you can progress to Senior Engineer, Lead Engineer, and eventually to Architecture or Management roles, depending on performance and skill development.
