The role of Software Engineer in the Cloud & Production Engineering team is an entry‑level, full‑time position based in Bengaluru. As an individual contributor, you will design, build, and operate core messaging and caching services that power DocuSign’s product portfolio. You will collaborate with senior engineers, SREs, and product teams to create reliable, high‑performance infrastructure components. The position offers a hybrid work model, requiring at least two days per week in the office, which fosters mentorship and rapid learning. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design, implement, and test features for the events, cache, and queues platform. 2. Develop internal client libraries and SDKs for Azure Service Bus, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Kafka, Redis, and related technologies. 3. Instrument metrics, logging, and tracing to improve reliability and performance of messaging systems. 4. Participate in root‑cause analysis (RCA) and automate runbooks for operational efficiency. 5. Conduct code reviews, share design feedback, and champion best practices for distributed systems. 6. Write comprehensive unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure code quality. 7. Work with SRE and partner engineering teams to execute safe roll‑outs using canary deployments, feature flags, and configuration management. 8. Follow secure coding standards, especially for handling secrets and credentials. 9. Contribute actively in team rituals such as stand‑ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. 10. Mentor peers and foster an inclusive, collaborative team culture.
