The Software Engineer role is an application‑support position within the global Tempo Operations Management (j5) team. Based in Hyderabad with a hybrid work model, the incumbent will act as the primary technical liaison for industrial customers and reseller partners. The day‑to‑day work involves receiving support tickets, reproducing defects, analysing logs and database records, writing SQL queries, and guiding users through work‑arounds via remote screen‑share sessions. While the role is not a development position, a solid understanding of web‑application architecture (IIS, .NET, SQL Server) and industrial integration points (OSIsoft PI, AspenTech, SAP PM, Maximo, DCS) is essential. Key responsibilities include: 1. End‑to‑end case management – acknowledge, investigate, resolve or provide work‑around, and close tickets within SLA. 2. Respond to customer and partner queries through ticketing tools, email and live screen‑share sessions. 3. Document case details, reproduction steps and resolution notes in the knowledge base. 4. Diagnose defects across the j5 module suite by analysing application logs, server configurations and database records. 5. Write and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity and troubleshoot data‑related issues. 6. Troubleshoot integrations with third‑party systems such as OSIsoft PI, AspenTech, SAP PM, Maximo and DCS environments. 7. Escalate confirmed product defects to the development team with complete evidence and impact analysis. 8. Collaborate with the Global Support Manager and regional support teams (Cape Town, USA) to ensure SLA compliance and continuous process improvement. 9. Enable reseller partners by providing configuration guidance, training sessions and technical support. 10. Contribute to internal knowledge assets – known‑issue articles, best‑practice guides and configuration checklists. The tech stack for this role centres on SQL, IIS, .NET and SQL Server, complemented by familiarity with industrial data historians and CMMS platforms.
