🎤 Interview Experience
Candidates typically face a three‑stage process. The first stage is a timed online aptitude test covering quantitative, logical and verbal sections. 📋 About the Role
GE HealthCare is a global leader in medical technology, digital solutions and diagnostics. With a presence in more than 140 countries, the company designs and manufactures cutting‑edge imaging, monitoring and life‑science equipment that helps clinicians deliver better patient outcomes. In India, GE HealthCare operates state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing plants, R&D centres and a robust service network, making it one of the most respected employers for engineering talent. The organization’s culture is built around innovation, collaboration and a strong commitment to patient safety, which translates into a supportive environment for fresh graduates looking to start their careers.
The Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) role is positioned within the Post‑Market Surveillance (PMS) team, a critical function that monitors the performance of GE HealthCare products after they are installed in hospitals and diagnostic centres. As a GET, you will be immersed in real‑world complaint handling, learning how to assess, document and resolve product issues while adhering to stringent regulatory and quality standards. The role offers a blend of on‑the‑job training, structured technical modules and exposure to cross‑functional teams such as Quality, Regulatory, and Engineering, providing a solid foundation for a long‑term career in medical‑device quality and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Reviewing and processing customer complaints received from hospitals, diagnostic centres and other end‑users.
2. Accurately documenting complaint details, investigation steps and resolution outcomes in the Quality Management System.
3. Assisting senior engineers in assessing the severity of product‑related issues, ranging from minor operational concerns to serious adverse events.
4. Coordinating with Quality, Regulatory, Technical and Service teams to gather necessary information for complaint evaluation.
5. Learning and applying GE HealthCare’s complaint handling procedures, regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 820, EU MDR) and internal quality standards.
6. Participating in regular training sessions on medical‑device regulations, risk management and root‑cause analysis techniques.
7. Contributing to the preparation of regulatory reports and trend analysis for continuous product improvement.
8. Maintaining clear and timely communication with global stakeholders, ensuring transparency throughout the complaint lifecycle.
9. Supporting audit readiness by ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate and traceable.
10. Demonstrating a proactive learning mindset, attention to detail and ownership of assigned tasks.
The technical stack is not software‑centric but focuses on quality tools such as CAPA, FMEA, 8D reports, and familiarity with regulatory databases. Growth prospects are strong – successful trainees can progress to roles like Quality Engineer, Regulatory Affairs Specialist, or Product Safety Manager, eventually moving into leadership positions within the PMS or broader Quality organization. Joining GE HealthCare offers the chance to work on life‑saving technologies, receive world‑class mentorship, and build a career that directly impacts global health outcomes.
