The Advanced Manufacturing, Mobility & Infrastructure (AMI) practice focuses on sectors such as aerospace, chemicals, automotive, industrial products and transportation. By pooling expertise across these industries, AMI helps clients redesign value chains, adopt emerging technologies and respond swiftly to market disruptions. Within AMI, the CNS – Risk – Process & Controls team assists organisations in identifying, assessing and mitigating risks that could impede strategic objectives. The team works across enterprise risk, technology risk and financial services risk, delivering audit, compliance and advisory services that enhance resilience and governance.
As an Associate Consultant in this team, you will be the first line of execution for internal audit and risk advisory engagements. You will develop a deep understanding of client business processes, support walkthroughs, document controls, and perform testing to validate effectiveness. Your analytical skills will be applied to financial and operational data to spot trends, exceptions and potential risk hotspots. You will prepare working papers, risk‑control matrices, process flow diagrams and contribute to the preparation of client‑facing reports. The role offers exposure to a variety of industries, hands‑on experience with leading audit tools, and mentorship from senior consultants.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Assisting senior team members in planning and executing internal audit and risk advisory engagements.
2. Conducting process walkthroughs and documenting business processes.
3. Performing control testing and evaluating control design effectiveness.
4. Analyzing financial, operational and transactional data to identify anomalies.
5. Preparing risk and control matrices, process flowcharts and working papers.
6. Supporting the review of client policies against regulatory and best‑practice standards.
7. Drafting preliminary findings and recommendations for senior review.
8. Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to gather evidence and insights.
9. Maintaining engagement documentation in line with EY methodology.
10. Continuously upskilling through EY’s learning platforms and certifications.
Tech stack commonly used includes Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), data analytics tools such as Tableau or Power BI, audit software like ACL, and basic SQL for data extraction. The growth path typically moves from Analyst to Senior Consultant, then Manager, Senior Manager and eventually Director, with clear milestones for skill development and leadership exposure. Joining EY means access to world‑class training, a global network of professionals, and the chance to work on high‑impact projects that shape industries.
Why join EY? You will be part of a prestigious brand that invests heavily in your professional development, offers a supportive and inclusive culture, and provides a clear career trajectory. The firm’s emphasis on mentorship, continuous learning and exposure to diverse clients makes it an ideal launchpad for a long‑term consulting career.
