📋 About the Role
Boeing is one of the world’s largest aerospace manufacturers and a leading provider of defense, space and security solutions. With a legacy spanning over a century, Boeing designs, builds and services commercial airplanes, defense aircraft, satellites and advanced technologies that connect the globe. The company operates a robust research and development ecosystem, investing heavily in cutting‑edge materials, manufacturing processes and digital engineering to stay ahead in a highly competitive industry. Boeing’s Indian presence, especially in Bangalore, focuses on technology integration, supply‑chain excellence and innovation that supports its global programs. The Global Technology team in Bangalore is looking for an Associate Materials and Process Research Engineer to join the Materials & Manufacturing Technology Integration (MMTI) group. This role sits at the intersection of materials science, process engineering and aerospace manufacturing. The incumbent will work closely with senior engineers, suppliers and cross‑functional teams to evaluate, qualify and implement new materials and processes that improve product performance, reduce cost and enhance manufacturability across Boeing’s commercial and defense programs. Key Responsibilities: 1. Conduct engineering analyses on materials, processes and physics for various Boeing programs. 2. Review and interpret Boeing drawings, part lists, process specifications and substitution lists to extract engineering requirements. 3. Evaluate industry standards and suggest alternate materials that meet or exceed Boeing specifications. 4. Provide technical guidance to suppliers on structural assembly, machining and finishing processes. 5. Test emerging technologies (e.g., additive manufacturing, advanced composites) for potential application. 6. Perform shop‑floor validation, data collection and root‑cause analysis for process deviations. 7. Prepare technical reports, risk assessments and documentation for internal and customer reviews. 8. Collaborate with quality and compliance teams to ensure adherence to aerospace standards. 9. Support customer queries related to material specifications and process capabilities. 10. Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and knowledge‑sharing forums within MMTI. Tech Stack & Tools: CATIA/Creo, GD&T, Siemens NX, Material property databases, ASTM/ISO standards, MATLAB/Python for data analysis, DOE (Design of Experiments), FEA tools, SAP PLM. Growth Path: Starting as an Associate Engineer, high performers can progress to Senior Engineer, Lead Engineer, and eventually to Principal Engineer or Technical Manager within the Global Technology hierarchy. Exposure to multiple Boeing programs and cross‑functional projects accelerates skill development and opens opportunities for international assignments. Why Join Boeing? Boeing offers a world‑class engineering environment, access to cutting‑edge aerospace technologies, and a culture that encourages innovation and continuous learning. Employees benefit from structured training programs, mentorship from industry veterans, and a competitive compensation package that includes performance bonuses, health benefits and relocation assistance within India. The Bangalore hub provides a vibrant, multicultural workplace with a strong focus on work‑life balance and employee well‑being.
