As a Software Engineering Intern, you will be embedded within the Global Engineering team in either Pune or Bangalore. Working under the guidance of a senior mentor, you will gain hands‑on experience designing, developing, and maintaining codebases written in Python, Go, or similar languages. The internship offers exposure to flagship Red Hat products such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and OpenShift, as well as emerging areas like Ansible automation, AI‑driven services, and cloud‑native platforms. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including Quality Engineering, Product Management, Design, and Documentation—to deliver end‑to‑end features and resolve real‑world issues.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and test code in Python, Go, or related languages under mentor guidance.
2. Implement new features and enhancements for Red Hat products (RHEL, OpenShift, etc.).
3. Debug, identify, and track defects throughout the software lifecycle.
4. Participate in code reviews and contribute to best‑practice documentation.
5. Collaborate with Quality Engineering to create automated test suites.
6. Work closely with Product Management to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
7. Engage with Design and Documentation teams to ensure usability and clear user guides.
8. Contribute to open‑source projects and internal tooling.
9. Attend regular knowledge‑sharing sessions and intern cohort events.
10. Network with fellow interns and senior engineers to build professional relationships.
