As a Network Engineer I, you will join a seasoned group of engineers and get hands‑on exposure to both enterprise‑grade and cloud‑native networking. Key responsibilities include: 1. Supporting day‑to‑day operations of enterprise and data‑center networks using documented runbooks. 2. Assisting in the implementation and validation of network changes and new designs in production environments. 3. Performing routine LODO tasks such as software upgrades, patching, failover testing and health audits. 4. Monitoring intake channels, responding to alerts, and escalating issues when necessary. 5. Troubleshooting basic connectivity problems, gathering relevant data, and coordinating with senior engineers for resolution. 6. Maintaining up‑to‑date network documentation, topology diagrams and runbooks. 7. Continuously learning Expedia’s infrastructure, tools, and standards while staying curious about emerging networking technologies. 8. Collaborating with security, platform and cloud teams to ensure secure and reliable connectivity across data centers, cloud platforms and remote users. The technical stack you will encounter includes enterprise routers and switches (Arista, Cisco), routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP, VLANs, ACLs, NAT, as well as cloud networking components on AWS, Azure or GCP. Scripting in Python or PowerShell is used for automation, and you will get exposure to tools like Terraform, Ansible and network observability platforms (Datadog, SNMP, NetFlow).
