📋 About the Role
GE HealthCare is a global leader in medical technology and digital solutions, dedicated to improving patient outcomes through innovative imaging, monitoring, and diagnostic equipment. With a presence in over 140 countries, the company combines cutting‑edge research, engineering excellence, and a strong commitment to sustainability. Its Indian operations, especially in Bengaluru, serve as a hub for product development, manufacturing, and service delivery, offering fresh talent exposure to world‑class projects and a multicultural work environment. The organization’s purpose – "to create a world where healthcare has no limits" – drives a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and relentless focus on quality. The Graduate Engineer Trainee role is designed for recent Mechanical Engineering graduates who are eager to translate academic concepts into real‑world solutions. As a trainee, you will be mentored by senior engineers and will gradually take ownership of design, testing, and documentation activities across the product lifecycle. The position provides a structured learning path that blends classroom‑style training, on‑the‑job assignments, and cross‑functional exposure, preparing you for a full‑fledged Mechanical Engineer role within 18‑24 months. Key Responsibilities: 1. Create and modify 3D models and detailed drawings using CAD/CAM tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo). 2. Maintain an up‑to‑date mechanical component inventory and ensure availability as per the engineering Bill of Materials (BOM). 3. Conduct experiments, prototype testing, and validation to refine designs and meet performance targets. 4. Interact with suppliers, perform Design‑for‑Manufacturability (DFM) reviews, and manage vendor documentation. 5. Document design iterations, test results, and analytical data in clear technical reports. 6. Prepare design specifications, work instructions, and standard operating procedures for manufacturing. 7. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including electrical, software, and quality engineers—to deliver integrated solutions. 8. Seek mentorship and actively participate in problem‑solving sessions to accelerate skill development. 9. Keep abreast of industry standards, material properties, and emerging technologies relevant to medical devices. 10. Contribute ideas for process improvement, cost reduction, and product reliability enhancements. Tech Stack: SolidWorks / CATIA / Creo, GD&T, ANSYS for simulation, Microsoft Office Suite, PLM tools (Teamcenter), basic scripting for automation. Growth Path: Successful trainees can progress to Mechanical Engineer, Senior Mechanical Engineer, and eventually to Lead Engineer or Project Manager roles, with opportunities to work on global product platforms and international assignments. Why Join GE HealthCare? You will work on life‑saving technologies that have a tangible impact on patient care, receive world‑class mentorship, and benefit from a supportive culture that values diversity, innovation, and work‑life balance. The company’s robust learning ecosystem, competitive compensation, and clear career trajectories make it an ideal launchpad for ambitious engineers.
