JPMorgan Chase is one of the oldest and most respected financial institutions in the world, with a legacy that spans over two centuries. Operating under the J.P. Morgan and Chase brands, the firm offers a comprehensive suite of financial services ranging from consumer banking, credit cards, mortgages, and auto financing to investment advisory, corporate banking, and asset management. The company’s commitment to innovation, customer centricity, and responsible growth has positioned it as a market leader in the United States and a growing presence in global markets, including India. JPMorgan Chase places a high value on diversity, inclusion, and employee development, fostering a culture where talent from varied backgrounds can thrive and contribute to the firm’s success.
The Quant Analytics – Analyst role is situated within the Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) division’s Data & Analytics team in Bengaluru. The team is responsible for turning massive volumes of branch‑level data into actionable insights that drive operational efficiency, cost optimization, and strategic decision‑making. As an analyst, you will work closely with finance partners, technology teams, and business stakeholders to extract, transform, and validate data from legacy systems and modern platforms such as Databricks. Your work will directly influence the accuracy of financial reporting, the reliability of performance dashboards, and the effectiveness of cost‑allocation models across the branch network.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Gather, extract, and cleanse branch network and occupancy‑cost data from legacy sources and Databricks for finance reporting.
2. Design, develop, and maintain robust SQL queries and Python‑based ETL workflows to support recurring reports and ad‑hoc analysis.
3. Document data definitions, business rules, and source‑to‑target mappings to ensure clear lineage during the legacy‑to‑Databricks migration.
4. Perform detailed reconciliations between legacy outputs and new datasets, investigate variances, and track resolution of data quality issues.
5. Translate finance business questions into precise analytical requirements and deliver clear, explainable results.
6. Contribute to the creation and enhancement of dashboards and visualisations (e.g., ThoughtSpot) that provide real‑time insights to stakeholders.
7. Implement data governance controls, validation checks, and change‑traceability mechanisms to uphold data integrity.
8. Identify and drive process‑improvement opportunities to reduce manual effort and increase automation.
9. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including technology, risk, and operations, to align analytics solutions with broader business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have around two years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or analytical finance support, with strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data extraction, transformation, and analysis. Experience handling complex, multi‑system datasets, solid Excel skills, and familiarity with intelligent automation tools are essential. Exposure to financial concepts such as P&L statements, occupancy‑cost components, and cost‑center allocations will enable you to quickly add value. A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Economics) or equivalent experience is required.
Growth opportunities are abundant: analysts can progress to senior analyst, associate, and eventually lead roles within the CCB Data & Analytics hierarchy, gaining exposure to advanced analytics, machine learning, and strategic finance initiatives. Joining JPMorgan Chase offers the chance to work with cutting‑edge data platforms, learn from industry experts, and contribute to a global financial powerhouse that values innovation, integrity, and employee development.
