📋 About the Role
Volvo Group is a global leader in transport solutions, renowned for its commitment to safety, sustainability and innovation. With a presence in over 190 markets and a workforce of nearly 100,000 employees, Volvo drives the future of trucks, buses, construction equipment and marine & industrial engines. The company’s core values revolve around caring for people, inclusiveness, and empowerment, creating an environment where fresh ideas are nurtured and impactful solutions are delivered. In India, Volvo’s Trucks Technology & Industrial Division focuses on building next‑generation, eco‑friendly transport technologies that reduce emissions, improve efficiency and enhance the overall travel experience. The Graduate Apprentice Trainee role is designed for recent graduates who are eager to apply their analytical mindset to real‑world business challenges. As an apprentice, you will be part of a cross‑functional team that designs, develops and delivers digital solutions for Volvo’s logistics and supply‑chain operations. You will work closely with senior data engineers, business analysts and domain experts, gaining hands‑on experience with data pipelines, visualization tools and automation platforms. The position offers a fast‑track learning curve, exposing you to both the technical and business sides of a large, multinational organization. Key Responsibilities: 1. Support the design, development and deployment of analytics‑driven digital solutions using SQL, Python and Power Automation. 2. Extract, clean and transform structured and unstructured data from multiple enterprise systems to address ambiguous business problems. 3. Create business‑ready dashboards, reports and visualisations in Power BI (and optionally Qlik) that highlight trends, exceptions, risks and performance metrics. 4. Identify actionable insights through data analysis, automation and basic advanced‑analytics techniques, flagging opportunities for AI/ML or big‑data interventions. 5. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to manage change requests, participate in system testing, validation and post‑deployment monitoring. 6. Translate complex technical findings into simple, stakeholder‑friendly language and support the adoption of new tools and processes. 7. Coach peers and stakeholders on dashboard usage, data‑driven decision making and best practices in data governance. 8. Contribute proactively to continuous‑improvement initiatives, suggesting enhancements to data pipelines, reporting standards and automation workflows. 9. Stay updated with emerging technologies in analytics, AI/ML and transport‑sector digitalisation to bring fresh ideas to the team. 10. Document all solution designs, data dictionaries and process flows for future reference and compliance. Tech Stack: SQL, Python, Power BI, Power Automate, basic AI/ML concepts, data‑visualisation best practices, familiarity with Qlik is a plus. Growth Path: Successful apprentices can progress to roles such as Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Automation Engineer or even specialize in AI/ML engineering within Volvo’s digital transformation programs. The exposure to end‑to‑end solution delivery prepares candidates for leadership positions in analytics and product development. Why Join Volvo Group? You will work with cutting‑edge technologies in a company that values sustainability, safety and innovation. The apprenticeship offers mentorship from industry experts, a collaborative culture, and the chance to make a tangible impact on global transport solutions. Moreover, Volvo’s strong emphasis on employee development, flexible work policies and competitive compensation make it an attractive launchpad for a thriving career.
