HSBC, one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organisations, has a long-standing presence in India, serving millions of customers across retail, corporate and institutional segments. With a heritage that dates back to 1865, HSBC has consistently invested in technology, talent and community initiatives, positioning itself as a global bank that values diversity, innovation and ethical conduct. The Indian subsidiary operates in a highly competitive market, offering a wide range of products from trade finance to wealth management, and prides itself on delivering customer-centric solutions backed by robust risk management frameworks.
The Client Support Executive (Apprentice-12 Months) role is designed for recent graduates who are eager to start their banking career in a structured apprenticeship program. As an apprentice, you will be fully integrated into the HSBC team, receiving on-the-job training, mentorship and exposure to real trade finance transactions. Your primary responsibility will be to manage end‑to‑end trade transactions for Premium and Standard Trade Clients, ensuring all documentation, approvals and compliance checks are completed accurately and on time.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Own trade transaction processing from initiation to settlement.
2. Verify and secure all required documents and internal approvals.
3. Coordinate with internal stakeholders (MO, Sales, Product teams) to minimise transaction breakdowns.
4. Resolve customer complaints and queries via e‑helpline, phone and email.
5. Prepare onboarding documentation and support new client set‑up.
6. Conduct proactive callbacks for payment instructions, exchange rates and fund status.
7. Follow up on export payments, overdue bills, and reconciliation of financial instruments.
8. Liaise with overseas group offices for cross‑border transaction support.
9. Promote digital solutions and AI‑enabled tools to enhance client experience.
10. Maintain compliance with HSBC’s internal control standards and Group policies.
The apprenticeship will run for 12 months, after which a Certificate of Proficiency will be awarded by the Government of India. Throughout the program, you will be evaluated on performance, learning agility and contribution to team goals.
Growth path: Successful apprentices can transition into full‑time roles such as Trade Analyst, Client Relationship Manager or Operations Specialist, with clear pathways for promotion and professional development.
Why join HSBC? You will work in a global brand that offers competitive benefits, a culture of continuous learning, and opportunities to travel and collaborate across borders. HSBC’s commitment to diversity, sustainability and community impact ensures that your work will have a positive societal impact while advancing your career.
