📋 About the Role
NVIDIA is a global leader in accelerated computing, AI, and graphics technologies. Headquartered in the United States, the company has a strong presence in India with cutting‑edge research and development centers in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. NVIDIA’s mission is to solve the world’s most challenging problems by delivering powerful GPUs, system‑on‑chips (SoCs), and software platforms that power everything from autonomous vehicles to data‑center AI workloads. The Indian engineering teams work closely with global product groups, contributing to next‑generation silicon, verification frameworks, and developer tools that shape the future of computing.
The ASIC Verification Engineer role is positioned within the SoC Verification and Emulation Infrastructure team. This is a multifaceted position that blends hardware‑centric verification with software development. The engineer will design, build, and maintain test‑bench infrastructure, bare‑metal boot utilities, silicon bring‑up tools, and CPU/SOC/GPU test frameworks. The work spans RTL simulation, C‑model verification, FPGA emulation, and on‑silicon validation, requiring a deep understanding of NVIDIA’s Tegra architecture, boot flow, and security subsystems.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Develop and enhance tools that enable design and verification teams to access registers, memory, DMA engines, and other IP blocks across multiple platforms (RTL, models, emulation, silicon).
2. Build and maintain test frameworks for bare‑metal execution, facilitating early software validation without an operating system.
3. Create C‑models or RTL‑simulation capabilities to emulate SOC features before silicon tape‑out.
4. Contribute to silicon bring‑up activities such as fuse programming, automated test equipment (ATE) integration, security feature validation, flash/DMA handling, and board‑level I2C/USB debugging.
5. Collaborate with hardware designers to understand IP specifications and translate them into reusable verification components.
6. Write and maintain documentation for tools, test cases, and verification methodologies.
7. Participate in code reviews, ensure coding standards, and promote scalable, maintainable software practices.
8. Assist in debugging complex boot and security issues on silicon prototypes and emulation platforms.
9. Stay updated with emerging verification methodologies (UVM, SystemVerilog, C++ testbenches) and propose improvements.
10. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge‑sharing sessions within the team.
The tech stack revolves around C, C++, Python for scripting, SystemVerilog/UVM for testbenches, and hardware description languages (Verilog/SystemVerilog) for low‑level IP interaction. Familiarity with FPGA platforms, emulation rigs, and Linux‑based development environments is advantageous.
Growth path: Starting as an entry‑level verification engineer, one can progress to Senior Verification Engineer, Verification Lead, or System Architecture Engineer, eventually moving into product management or technical leadership roles within NVIDIA’s expansive ecosystem.
Why join NVIDIA? The company offers a vibrant, fast‑paced environment where engineers see their work impact world‑changing products. Employees benefit from competitive compensation, generous benefits, continuous learning opportunities, and the chance to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in AI and hardware design. NVIDIA’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and employee well‑being makes it a top choice for ambitious freshers looking to launch a high‑impact career.
