The role of Software Development Engineer (P2) sits within the Shared Services team of Employee Solutions & Experience (ESE). As a member of this team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining test‑automation frameworks that enable product squads to ship high‑quality code faster. You will work closely with developers, quality engineers and DevOps specialists to embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, improve test reliability and leverage AI‑assisted coding tools to accelerate delivery. The position offers exposure to modern testing technologies, cloud‑native environments and emerging agentic AI concepts, making it an ideal launchpad for a career in software engineering and quality engineering. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design, develop and maintain automated test suites for web UI, API, integration and end‑to‑end scenarios. 2. Contribute reusable components, libraries and utilities to shared automation frameworks. 3. Write clean, well‑documented, testable code following industry best practices. 4. Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions pipelines and ensure reliable execution. 5. Diagnose flaky tests, environment issues and product defects, providing actionable feedback. 6. Add logging, metrics and reporting capabilities to improve observability of test runs. 7. Collaborate with development, DevOps and product teams to align testing strategy with release goals. 8. Leverage AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Codex, etc.) for code generation, debugging and documentation. 9. Participate in code reviews, design discussions and continuous‑improvement initiatives. 10. Stay updated with emerging technologies such as agentic AI, containerised test execution and observability platforms. Tech Stack: TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Java or C#; Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Cypress; Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins; Docker, Kubernetes; Azure Monitor, Datadog; AI coding assistants (Claude, Codex).
