📋 About the Role
JPMorgan Chase & Co. is one of the world’s oldest and most respected financial institutions, with a legacy spanning over two centuries. In India, the firm operates across investment banking, consumer banking, commercial banking, asset management and technology services, employing thousands of professionals who drive innovation for global clients. The company places a strong emphasis on diversity, inclusion and continuous learning, offering employees a platform to work on high‑impact projects that shape the future of finance.
The Model Risk Governance & Review (MRGR) team sits within the Risk Management and Compliance division, a critical function that safeguards the firm’s stability by overseeing model risk across the enterprise. As a Software Engineer I, you will join the MRGR Analytics sub‑team, building and enhancing tools that automate model governance workflows, improve data quality, and embed advanced analytics—including Large Language Models—into everyday processes. Your work will directly influence how model reviewers and governance officers manage risk, making the firm more resilient and efficient.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Designing and developing end‑to‑end automation tools for the model governance lifecycle using Python and the in‑house Athena framework.
2. Creating interactive dashboards and visualisations in Tableau and QlikSense to monitor workload, resource allocation and risk metrics.
3. Translating detailed business requirements into robust, user‑friendly applications, ensuring adherence to data‑control standards.
4. Integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance reporting, automate documentation, and support decision‑making.
5. Collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders—model risk analysts, data engineers, and compliance officers—to identify automation opportunities.
6. Implementing full‑stack features with Tornado, TypeScript and React, delivering responsive UI/UX experiences.
7. Conducting unit, integration and performance testing to guarantee reliability and scalability.
8. Maintaining documentation, version control and deployment pipelines in line with enterprise best practices.
9. Providing post‑deployment support, gathering user feedback and iterating on solutions.
10. Staying updated with emerging AI/ML technologies and recommending enhancements to the MRGR tech stack.
The tech stack revolves around Python (Athena), Tornado web framework, TypeScript, React, Tableau, QlikView/QlikSense and cloud‑based CI/CD pipelines. Exposure to large data sets and LLM deployment will accelerate your expertise in cutting‑edge AI applications within a regulated financial environment.
Growth path: Starting as a Software Engineer I, high performers can progress to Software Engineer II, Senior Engineer, and eventually lead architecture or product ownership roles within the Risk Management technology ecosystem. The role also opens doors to broader technology or risk‑analytics positions across JPMorgan Chase globally.
Why join JPMorgan Chase? You will work at a globally recognised brand that invests heavily in technology and talent, enjoy mentorship from seasoned risk‑management professionals, and gain experience on mission‑critical systems that impact billions of dollars of assets. The firm’s commitment to continuous learning, flexible work arrangements and robust employee benefits make it an attractive destination for ambitious engineers.
