As a backend engineer you will design, develop, and optimise the core business logic that drives payment processing, authentication, UPI integration and other high‑throughput services. You will work closely with product, data‑science and infrastructure teams to translate complex payment requirements into clean, functional code that can scale to billions of transactions while maintaining ultra‑low latency and high availability. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design and implement robust, high‑performance backend services using functional programming paradigms. 2. Build and maintain RESTful APIs that expose payment orchestration, tokenisation and fraud‑risk functionalities. 3. Collaborate with SDK and UI teams to ensure seamless end‑to‑end payment flows. 4. Optimise existing services for latency, throughput and cost‑efficiency on cloud platforms. 5. Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards and contribute to the team’s best‑practice library. 6. Develop automated test suites, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring dashboards to guarantee 99.999 % uptime. 7. Work with data‑science engineers to expose analytics‑ready endpoints for intelligent routing and anomaly detection. 8.
