The AI Engineer role is a core member of the AI & Machine Learning team, responsible for turning business problems into end‑to‑end AI products. The engineer will work closely with product managers, data scientists, and backend engineers to embed intelligent agents, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and LLM‑based copilots into Shiprocket’s SaaS offerings. Key Responsibilities: 1. Own the full lifecycle of AI applications – from requirement gathering to production monitoring. 2. Design and implement LLM‑driven agents, chat‑bots, and copilots that assist internal teams and external merchants. 3. Build Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using vector databases such as Pinecone or Milvus. 4. Create autonomous, multi‑step AI agents that can orchestrate complex workflows like order routing and inventory prediction. 5. Develop reusable AI modules and libraries for cross‑team consumption, ensuring consistency and scalability. 6. Expose AI functionality through robust APIs using FastAPI or Django. 7. Collaborate with product owners to translate business use‑cases into AI solutions. 8. Deploy, containerise, and monitor models on AWS services (ECS, SageMaker, Lambda). 9. Conduct performance benchmarking, A/B testing, and continuous model improvement. 10. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the AI knowledge base within the organization.
