As a Junior Backend Engineer, you will join a high‑energy team that is responsible for the core fintech infrastructure powering global payments. You will work closely with senior engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver APIs, manage databases, and develop microservices that enable seamless payroll processing for Deel’s international clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js or Go.
2. Build and integrate RESTful and gRPC APIs for payment gateways and banking partners.
3. Manage PostgreSQL schemas, write optimized queries, and ensure data integrity.
4. Implement microservice architecture patterns, including service discovery and fault tolerance.
5. Write unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests to guarantee code quality.
6. Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and adopting best practices.
7. Collaborate with DevOps to containerize services using Docker and orchestrate them on Kubernetes.
8. Monitor performance metrics, troubleshoot production issues, and propose scalability improvements.
9. Stay updated with emerging fintech trends, security standards, and cloud technologies.
10. Contribute to documentation and knowledge‑sharing sessions within the engineering team.
