📋 About the Role
Volvo Group is a global leader in transport solutions, with a legacy of more than 90 years in designing, manufacturing and delivering trucks, buses, construction equipment and marine and industrial engines. The company operates in over 190 markets and employs nearly 100,000 people worldwide. Its core values revolve around safety, quality, environmental care and respect for people, and it is actively driving the transition to sustainable, net‑zero mobility. In India, Volvo has a strong presence in manufacturing hubs such as Hosakote, where cutting‑edge production lines support the delivery of high‑value vehicles to both domestic and export markets. The Graduate Apprentice Trainee role is positioned at the shop‑floor of the Trucks Technology & Industrial Division. As a fresh graduate, you will be immersed in a real‑world production environment, supporting daily assembly operations, data collection, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role offers a unique blend of hands‑on exposure to manufacturing processes and analytical work that drives efficiency, quality and safety across the plant. Key responsibilities include: 1. Supporting daily assembly operations through real‑time data management and monitoring. 2. Coordinating with Team Leaders and Production Leaders to maintain accurate KPI and PI reporting. 3. Collecting and analysing ANDON triggers and quality remarks for root‑cause analysis. 4. Assisting in video‑study analyses to optimise work methods and reduce cycle time. 5. Contributing to production digitalisation projects and structured performance reporting. 6. Reporting unsafe conditions and participating in risk‑assessment activities. 7. Tracking work‑in‑process (WIP) vehicle status and ensuring proper documentation flow. 8. Participating in Gemba walks to identify abnormalities and support rapid containment. 9. Supporting IMQ teams with random in‑process inspections. 10. Assisting in trials, validation activities and implementation of engineering changes. The technical stack for this role primarily involves MS Office tools – advanced Excel for data manipulation, PowerPoint for reporting, and basic familiarity with lean manufacturing software (e.g., MES, ANDON systems). A basic understanding of PLC‑based monitoring and data acquisition tools is advantageous but not mandatory. Growth path: Successful apprentices are often transitioned into full‑time Production Engineer, Quality Analyst or Continuous Improvement roles within Volvo’s manufacturing ecosystem. The apprenticeship provides a fast‑track to leadership positions in operations, quality assurance or digital transformation teams, with clear mentorship and training programs. Why join Volvo Group? You will work with a globally recognised brand that invests heavily in employee development, sustainability and innovation. The company’s inclusive culture, focus on safety and commitment to a net‑zero future provide a purpose‑driven work environment. Moreover, the apprenticeship offers a stipend, hands‑on experience, and a clear career trajectory in one of the most respected industrial organisations in the world.
