The Graduate HR Generalist – APAC role is a full‑time, remote position that will support Canonical’s growing workforce across the Asia‑Pacific region. Reporting to the senior HR lead, the incumbent will act as the first point of contact for employees on all HR‑related queries, manage end‑to‑end onboarding, maintain HRIS data integrity, and partner with managers to drive people‑centric initiatives. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate with a passion for people operations and a desire to build a career in a globally distributed environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Respond to employee queries on contracts, benefits, onboarding, and employment verification, escalating complex issues when needed.
2. Maintain and update the HRIS system, ensuring accurate and timely processing of new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
3. Own and deliver global HR projects such as engagement surveys, training programs, and culture‑building initiatives.
4. Partner with managers and leaders to support performance management cycles and drive the people strategy for their teams.
5. Coordinate country‑specific onboarding documentation, set up system access, and schedule introductory reviews for new hires.
6. Assist employees with benefits enrollment and liaise with payroll to guarantee accurate and on‑time salary disbursements.
7. Create purchase orders for internal departments and manage related administrative tasks.
8. Conduct regular audits of employee files and HR systems to ensure GDPR compliance and data accuracy.
9. Continuously identify process improvement opportunities and implement best‑practice solutions.
10. Support internal travel logistics for the mandatory 2‑4 annual in‑person team sprints.
Tech Stack & Tools: The role will primarily use HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, BambooHR), payroll systems, Google Workspace, and collaboration tools such as Slack and Zoom. Familiarity with GDPR compliance frameworks and basic data analytics (Excel/Google Sheets) is beneficial.
Growth Path: Starting as a Graduate HR Generalist, high performers can progress to HR Business Partner, Talent Acquisition Lead, or People Operations Manager within Canonical’s global HR function. The role offers exposure to cross‑regional HR strategy, giving candidates a fast‑track to senior HR leadership.
