📋 About the Role
xVector Labs Inc is a fast‑growing AI‑focused startup headquartered in New York with a strong engineering presence in India. The company builds a no‑code‑first platform that enables developers and business users to create, deploy, and govern agentic AI data applications. Leveraging decades of experience in data‑intensive platforms across supply chain, fintech, legal tech, and omnichannel retail, xVector combines robust data pipelines, scalable cloud infrastructure, and cutting‑edge generative AI to turn raw data into actionable insights. The team is small, highly collaborative, and driven by a product‑first mindset, where every engineer gets to own features end‑to‑end and see direct impact on customers. As a Software Engineer (Remote – India), you will join this ambitious team at an early stage, working on both the core platform and customer‑facing capabilities. Your day‑to‑day will involve translating high‑level product requirements into production‑ready code, designing data pipelines that move terabytes of information reliably, and building backend services that power the AI agents. You will also collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and UI/UX designers to ensure that the platform remains intuitive for non‑technical users while staying performant at scale. The role offers exposure to distributed systems, container orchestration, and the latest AI model integration techniques, making it an ideal launchpad for engineers who want to deepen their expertise across the full stack. Key responsibilities: 1. Convert user stories and functional specifications into scalable, maintainable codebases. 2. Design, develop, and optimise data ingestion and transformation pipelines. 3. Build robust backend services using Python and JavaScript (Node.js) that expose RESTful APIs. 4. Implement containerised deployments with Docker and orchestrate them on Kubernetes clusters. 5. Participate in system design discussions, evaluating trade‑offs for latency, throughput, and cost. 6. Develop and integrate agentic AI components that automate complex data tasks. 7. Conduct code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and ensure high code quality. 8. Monitor production systems, troubleshoot incidents, and improve reliability. 9. Contribute to documentation and knowledge‑sharing within the remote engineering team. 10. Stay updated with emerging AI, cloud, and data‑engineering technologies and propose improvements. Tech stack: Python, JavaScript/Node.js, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, AWS/GCP, CI/CD pipelines, Git, REST/GraphQL APIs, and AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, OpenAI API). Growth path: Starting as an associate engineer, you can progress to senior engineer, lead engineer, and eventually architect or product lead, with mentorship from founders who have built large‑scale B2B platforms. The role offers rapid skill acquisition, exposure to end‑to‑end product development, and the chance to influence the roadmap of a high‑impact AI platform. Why join xVector Labs? You will work in a fully remote, flexible environment that values autonomy, curiosity, and ownership. The startup culture encourages experimentation, rapid iteration, and direct mentorship. Competitive compensation, equity options, and a clear path to technical leadership make it an attractive opportunity for fresh talent eager to shape the future of AI‑driven data applications.
