The Intern – Software Development and Testing role is situated in the Loads and Controls Engineering Department. As an intern, you will work closely with senior engineers on the design, programming, and validation of software tools that support wind turbine control systems. Your day will involve writing MATLAB and Python scripts for automated reporting, debugging tools, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, and Artifactory. You will also help prepare technical documentation, user guides, and controller certification documents.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Designing and coding functions in MATLAB and Python for automated reporting and controller validation workflows.
2. Validating new and existing software tools to ensure functionality and reliability.
3. Debugging and enhancing tool performance based on user feedback.
4. Implementing and improving automated build, test, and CI/CD procedures.
5. Maintaining technical documentation and user guides.
6. Assisting in data analysis reports and technical presentations for engineering reviews.
7. Preparing controller certification documents.
8. Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to meet project milestones.
9. Participating in code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions.
